Public Information and
Cooperation with the Professional Community
Purpose of Committee:
To inform professionals and the public:
- What Alcoholics Anonymous is
- Where it can be found
- How it can help alcoholics
How it helps the alcoholic who still suffers:
This committee provides vital information to professionals who come into contact with still suffering alcoholics. These professionals are then able to properly refer individuals to AA.
Our committee also provides this same information to the general public, some of who are still suffering alcoholics or who may live with or know an alcoholic.
How you can grow spiritually by getting involved:
Our committee is alive and active! This is an exciting type of service that any alcoholic can be involved with.
By being involved in this committee, you will gain experience with the 12 traditions, as well as learning more about how AA got started and how it helps people.
How you can get involved:
The committee meets the fourth Thursday of every month at the Rochester Central Office at 6pm.
There are a variety of service positions within the committee, including chair, secretary, literature and libraries.
Our committee gives regular informative presentations to a variety of places each month. We participate in local health fairs.
Our committee is responsible for maintaining a number of literature racks placed throughout the area and we recently provided Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to local TV and radio stations.
