We Need AAs to Carry the Message to Members Behind the Walls

The Rochester Intergroup Corrections Committee supports active AA groups in the Monroe County jail (men’s and women’s areas) and 7 state prisons located 30-60 miles from Rochester (one is a women’s prison).

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Many volunteers have never been incarcerated.

YOU CAN HELP BY:

  • Sponsoring incarcerated members via visits, e-messaging, mail and/or phone calls (no application process or clearance needed).

  • Getting cleared to go into a jail or prison to participate in meetings (application and clearance process required).

  • Getting your Home Group involved by electing a Corrections Committee representative or just show up at the Corrections Committee meeting yourself to find out what’s going on and how you might be of service.

For more information on this incredibly rewarding service opportunity, please contact: corrections_committee@rochester-ny-aa.org or txt 585-764-1073. The committee meets the 3rd Thurs. of each month at 6pm on zoom RAIG Committee Zoom Link.
